Seymour Packing Plant is making splendid progress, having reached a volume of business considerably ahead of what was anticipated in this length of time after opening. Over ninety people were on the pay-roll last week. This institution is proving a big benefit for the town and for the surrounding country.

Mesdames Olsen, Hereford, Rogers and Riddle went to McPherson Tuesday to look up and investigate the Carnegie Library there. They are just preparing to put up a new $12,500 building for the City Library. They also have one at the college.

The celebration put on Tuesday by the Lincolnville Oil and Gas Co. at the Gutsch farm northeast of Lincolnville, where the well is being put down, was one of the biggest affairs of the sort ever held in the county. It is estimated that at least twenty-five hundred people were there. There were four or five hundred autos and a hundred or more carriages there. This Lincolnville Co. is certainly making folks sit up and take notice.

Thirty-seven students representing Marion county at the Kansas State Normal organized the Marion County Club, Wednesday. The following officers were elected: Lucile Burkholder, president; Felix Cooper, vice president; Elizabeth Merilatt, secretary.
