The houses which have been moved through the principal streets the last two weeks have caused considerable trouble to the power and light wires and as a result the current has been off a number of times.

Lost Springs has already begun the rebuilding of the business district burned in the fire a couple of weeks ago. Workmen began last week the construction of the new building for the Shupe Mercantile Co., which was the largest loser in the fire.

Mrs. Carl Sheldon entertained a company of ten for Miss Vergelia Donaldson at a line party at the picture show on Friday night, and lunch at Ferm’s after the show.

The troop train on which Earle Sacket was being transferred to Ft. Sill passed through here last Thursday evening and friends at the station just had a sight of him.

The first word from a Marion soldier boy to reach France is from Edwin Hayen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hayen of the East-of-Marion community. A few days ago they received a letter, from which we have kindly been permitted to quote ….. “I suppose you are wondering just where I am. I am “Somewhere in France” now. Working on aeroplanes. I will probably work here all winter. It is a long way from here to the firing line….Write often. I’ll write as often as possible. Answer soon.”
