The high school football team is putting in some hard practice these evenings under the coaching of Roy Frazer and it promises to develop into one of the strongest teams the school has had in years. The first game scheduled is with Herington on the Marion grounds October 3rd.

Petitions have been completed for five more blocks of paving on the Hill. This brings the new paving undertaken this summer to about a mile and a half.

Mr. Wm. Oldham, who has been running the lunch counter on north Second street for some time will open a restaurant probably Saturday of this week in the room recently vacated by Mrs. McCormac’s millinery shop. The place will be called “Bill’s Place.”

Bruce Grimes and Harry Bowlby have purchased the Marion Dry Cleaners establishment from Mrs. Henrietta Rankin, and will continue the business in the same place. Mrs. Rankin will continue with the new managers for the present.
