A big rain fell here and over most of the county Tuesday night, the first real rain for a year or more. Several rains of an inch fell in March but none to compare with the 4.20-inch rain of Tuesday night. It delayed the small-grain harvest a little but was a great benefit to other growing crops.

Jacob Hanson, carpenter and contractor, has opened a shop in the room in the rear of the Hanstine hardware store. He has long experience in his trade, having lived and worked at his business for a number of years in El Dorado and Hutchinson.
