Memorial Proclamation

By the laws of the State and sanctioned by the sentiments of the people, Memorial day has been made a legal holiday in respect for and in memory of Union soldiers, who sacrificed their lives in the service of their country. We, therefore, recommend that on Monday the 31st of May, that as many of our people as can do so should lay aside ordinary pursuits or employment and join in the exercises to be given in the city at the time in memory of such deceased soldiers.

All of us like to meet the out-of-town man we deal with, the wholesaler, the many supplying the local dealer. About one hundred members of the club were on the trip and one of the jolliest of the jolly bunch was Geo. Neff of the Drovers Telegram.
