Remember that the Old Settlers Picnic will be Friday, Aug. 11, in Marion. There will be a basket dinner in Central Park, informal programs, and many special features.

Governor H.S. Martin, Mrs. Martin, and Sibyl Martin are expected to arrive in Marion sometime next week. They arrived in Seattle from the Philippines last Saturday. They will be welcomed home by Marion friends.

A story to the effect that William Jennings Bryan will appear here in advance of the regular Chautauqua program is incorrect. He will speak at 3 o’clock Aug. 27. Mr. Horner is sending Mr. Bryan here in addition to the regular Chautauqua program. Season ticket holders will be admitted without charge.

At last, the welcome news has been announced that the youngsters and oldsters of this vicinity will have an opportunity to visit the Barnum & Bailey Greatest Show on Earth. The circus will be within easy traveling distance when it exhibits Aug. 17 in Wichita.
