The fame of Marion’s mineral water is spreading, and the merits of this place as a health resort are being canvassed at a distance. A gentleman from McPherson county was in town Tuesday, who has been investigating the matter, and has come to the conclusion that the medicinal qualities in this water are substantially the same as those found in the celebrated Eureka Springs water. He said his wife had been to the Eureka Springs for her health and now he thought he would bring her here, and let her try this water.
Our little lady friend, Jennie Leavitt, came in to buy some scratch paper, the other day, and incidentally remarked with something of a pout, that they had had a brand new baby girl at their house for several weeks, but the Record hadn’t said a word about it. A prompt promise to fix up the matter this week seemed to satisfy our nice little visitor, and she left promising to inform us if she heard of any other babies.
Four 14-year-old boys of Grant township had a big chase last Sunday, namely Kit Fee, Linn Fee, Jack Fee, and Wallie Pavey. They spied a large buffalo-wolf on the prairies and mounting their ponies gave chase. They ran the animal down, and it became too tired to keep out of their way. They dismounted and kicked it to death with their boots, having no implement of any sort, not even a stick with them. The vicious animal weighed one hundred pounds and a might dangerous varmint to tackle in this way.

Mr. Levi Billings’ residence has been connected by telephone with his place of business, the Cottonwood Valley Bank and real estate office. The length of the line is nearly a mile, we judge.
Pete Magathan, the industrious and worthy baker, stepped into a pail of hot water, Wednesday, severely scalding his foot.
Mr. Strom will move his harness establishment next week to his newly purchased stone business building opposite the Hise hotel.
