The first Social of the season is tonight.

The season of 1885 opened to-night by the Fast Asleep Club.

Oysters in every style, ice cream and cake, coffee and rolls, and lots of fun at Rogers’ Hall tonight.

Little Harry Kalfus fell one day last week and rebroke the arm which he broke by a similar fall a year or so ago.

Mr. Dan Lindsay was the recipient at the hands of his excellent wife of a handsome hat mark as a valentine and birthday present on the 24th inst. His initials were elegantly hand painted by Miss Edna Wood.

Dr. Tidyman lost a valuable mare, Monday. The animal fell down several times on a slippery place and injured herself fatally.

At the residence of the bride’s brother in Marion, Wednesday of last week, Esquire Thompson tied the matrimonial knot for Mr. J.E. Keyton, of Florence, and Miss Fannie Magathan, sister of our worthy friend, Pete Magathan. The Record adds its blessing.

About the “coldest snap” experienced here this cold winter was felt Monday night. Tuesday morning showed from 14 to 18 degrees below zero, according to the location and quality of the thermometer. But, on the principle that “misery loves company,” it is some satisfaction to know that other states suffered worse than Kansas.
