Ample money has already been subscribed to insure a great success of the celebration at Marion on the 4th, and let everybody make their arrangements to spend the day here.

Miss Anna Bown, one of the most successful and worthy teachers who ever taught in Marion, will open her select school in the Valley building next Monday, June 16. Hours from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Parents cannot put their children under better influence, morally and socially, or under more competent instructors than to send them to this select school.

The Mennonites in Marion County are going into the silk business, producing last year something over 5,000 pounds of cocoons.

Miss Alma Moulton, one of Marion’s fairest daughters, spent last Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Moulton, returning Monday to Great Bend where she is an instructor of stenography at the college.

Uncle Johnny Bonner explains his return to Marion by saying that he would rather live in Kansas than die in Pennsylvania.
