A regular landslide. Cleveland has been vetoed. Good-bye Grover, good-bye. The “destiny” business couldn’t’ save him. Hurrah for Harrison and Morton.

Not a drunken man to be seen on the streets of Marion on the most exciting election day we ever had. All honor to Republican, prohibition Kansas.

The Record is late this week. Everybody from editor to devil too hilariously happy to do anything but holler. Didn’t care much if we never got the paper out. Hip, hurrah!

Now that he has finished saving the country, the editor of the Record will settle down to business again—that is, as soon as he can “catch up” a little in his hours of sleep.

The city council at its meeting on Friday afternoon employed Mr. O.C. LaSuer of Lawrence to make a complete survey of the city for grades and sewerage and to make a plat of city.

If you want a handsome span of black carriage horses, blooded stock well broke, safe and kind, attend Levi Billings’ great sale next Tuesday.

One of the most sensible, best cooked and most handsomely served dinners we ever sat down to in Marion was that one in the Y.M.C.A. building Tuesday, given by the Baptist ladies. It made a fellow feel mean, however, to partake of such a dinner and only pay 25 cents for it. The ladies served oysters and lunch, and were liberally patronized.
