Judge C.E. Foote mysteriously disappeared from his office last week and to all inquiries as to his whereabouts, his deputy shook his head and kept mum. The Judge reappeared, however, last Wednesday returning from Indiana with a beautiful young bride in the person of Miss Lina Dillon, who is quite well known here, and highly esteemed. The Record tenders congratulations.

We can’t get the Peabody papers to tell us how that hole in the ground is progressing over there. So long as they treat us in this way they needn’t expect us to keep them posted about our new school house project, street improvements and other similar booms.

Cards are out announcing the approaching nuptials of Prof. B.D. Van Ostrand, County Superintendent-elect, to Miss Eva Brown, daughter of Mr. O.C. Brown of Wilson township. The Record tenders hearty congratulations in advance of the happy event.

The Presbyterian ladies succeeded finely with their Thanksgiving dinner and supper. It was one of the best dinners ever offered to the Marion public, entirely too good, in fact, for the pittance charged for it.

Main Street is being greatly improved with crossings. The new one across from Stanford’s to Steiner’s is especially gratifying.

The owner of a large, fat hog can get it by calling on A. Stonestreet, on Brewerton’s ranch, near Marion, and paying costs.
