From all parts of Marion county come casual but cordial endorsements of the coming quarter-centennial celebration of the county’s organization next Fourth of July. The idea “takes” all around and the RECORD believes it will be the largest and most harmonious gathering ever held in the county.

Mr. J.H. Danskin, of Aulne, has bought about fifty thousand bushels of corn, mostly from Wilson township farmers. He cannot get cars enough to ship it as fast as it is brought to him, and the result is that he is almost covered over with corn.

Mr. Joseph Brown, of Aulne, recently sold his farm back in the oil regions of Pennsylvania, and went there to settle up his business and bring another car load of fine horses. His son Samuel moved out with him and also brought some fine driving horses. The stock they brought consists of Clydesdale and English shire horses and also three or four fine drivers. They now have three of four fine imported Clydesdale and some imported English shire, as fine animals as can be found in the west.

Mr. Mosser, the blacksmith, drew the lady’s elegant gold watch as a patronage prize at Taylor Riddle’s drawing last Saturday night. Mr. Mosser only held one ticket, and those who held scores of tickets probably look on it as the “irony of fate.” Mr. Mosser is very proud of the prize.
