Uncle Will Kellison paid the last hundred dollars security debt for Scott Price, the stone contractor on the county poor house, Tuesday. That made eleven hundred dollars Uncle Will had to put up for this purpose. He thinks he is entitled to two or three of the best rooms in the house.

Joseph Stratton of Wichita, a manufacturer of gentlemen’s underwear, was in town Monday and took some good orders.

The street commissioner requests us to notify all property owners to clean up the alleys in the rear of their premises, a second notice will not be given, and if there are any manure or straw piles or other rubbish in the alley adjoining your premises it would be well for you to attend to it at once, as “Chub” says he means business, and it may cost you something if his warning is not heeded.

J.H. Hoch’s horse and buggy dashed down Main street one day last week, minus a driver, but were caught climbing the hill without damage.
