High school commencement is Wednesday evening, May 28. The following pupils will graduate this year: Florence Keller, Lenore Doster, Emma DeLay, Minnie Wright, Ina Thompson, and Frank Delay,

Miss Anna Bown assisted by Miss Emma DeLay will open a select school in the valley school building June 19. This will be for pupils in the primary and also in the third and fourth reader grades. Special attention will be given to the teaching of elocution. D.W. DeLay will also organize special classes in arithmetic, bookkeeping, typewriting and shorthand, soon after the public schools close.

Frank Tidyman wants the borrower of those saws to return them. Fred is one of the most accommodating fellows, but he wants his saws all the same.

This is the time when postmasters all over the country are required to list every piece of mail matter that went out from their respective offices. Postmaster Lewis reports the following: letters to other post offices, 3,068; drop letters, 337; postal cards to other post offices, 417, local, 114; newspapers, 7,784; third -lass letters, 1116; fourth class, 474; official matter, 123; total number of pieces mailed during the week, 10,473.

Mr. A.E. Case has broken ground for a one story stone business building 75x100 feet in size on Main Street, between Third and Fourth.
