Miss Lenore Doster departed Wednesday morning for New York City, where she expects to devote a year to the study of painting. We wish her great success.

The junior printer in this office, George Hannaford, is taking his first holiday since he engaged in our service several years ago, and is dressed up in his brass-buttoned blue uniform down at the Kansas National Guard encampment at Wichita. The Record is proud of all of its typographical artists, and takes advantage of this absent one to say so of him, by name.

The eleventh child was added this week to the happy household of our fine farmer friend, Mr. James Ely, of Aulne.

J.C. Dwelle’s suit against the Santa Fe for damages for ejectment from a train was stubbornly contested in court last week, and resulted in a verdict for $600, but the jury made some fatal blunder in answering the questions, and the case will have to be tried over again.

At the hour of noon, on Wednesday, at the residence of the bride’s parents in this city (Mr. and Mrs. S.F. Sacket) Dr. John E. Earp spoke the solemn and impressive words which united “for better or for worse” Mr. Joseph T. Dickerson and Miss Carrie Sacket. The thoughtful groom has prepared a handsome and cozy home on the hill, and there we trust he and his good wife will “live long and prosper.”
