The three Marion bank statements published in the Record last week showed that there are nearly a quarter of a million of dollars on deposit in these institutions. What does all this mean? It means that money is getting more plentiful. It means that the big crops of last year and the big prices this year are beginning to tell. It means returning prosperity.

Two convivial gentlemen were yanked for drunkenness Monday, and refusing to work out their fines, are now experiencing the effects of a bread and water diet.

Nothing adds more to the appearance of a town, or gives strangers a better impression of it than attractive homes. And Marion is constantly adding new charms for strangers in this important particular.

The owner of a black boar pig, which has been around Dr. Hannaford’s stables for several days, should call and get it.

Anyone finding 1½ yards of black dress goods, one yard wide, southwest of Marion or from Rink livery stable would receive thanks of owner, Mrs. J.N. Palmer. Leave the same at this office.

The founder of a part of a combination gold collar button will please leave it at this office.

The loser of a bundle of lady’s underwear can find it at Mrs. Smith’s millinery store.
