Jones & Hardcastle have moved their office to rooms over Wheeler Bros Store.

A business change of more than usual importance has occurred this week. Mr. J.H. Buchanan of Pueblo, Colorado, well known here a few years ago as one of Marion’s best business men and most useful citizen, has bought the Wheeler Bros. elegant stock of goods and will personally take charge of the establishment. The Wheeler Bros. have been among Marion’s most enterprising business men and will be greatly missed in business circles.

The weeks and months of unprecedented wet weather during which time the ground had become thoroughly soaked with water, culminated in final downpour last Friday afternoon. By Sunday morning, the Cottonwood and Luta were booming. The streams continued to rise until nearly night, reaching the highest mark since the flood of ’77. The Cottonwood lacked only about two feet from overflowing and the Luta was about the same. Indeed both streams had what might be called a high old time of it all day.
