The Chingawasa Springs Health Resort will be formally opened again, next Monday, under the supervision of Dr. Piper, whose success in relieving chronic ailments while in charge of the Sanitarium in town can be amply attested. Mr. C.F. Brooker will have charge of the hotel, which has been refitted. Charlie will make a popular host. There will be band concert out there Monday night. Cars will run daily hereafter.

Post Commander J.W. Moore showed us a gavel, the other day, recently presented to the Post of this city by Mr. Will V. Church, our popular deputy County Clerk, which has a history. It was made from a piece of Libby prison timber, by a Union soldier, and given to John McElroy, Senior Vice Commander of the Department of the Potomac, G.A.R. Mr. McElroy, who is now editor of the National Tribune and Secretary of the Prisoners of War Association, gave the mallet to Mr. John P. Church, formerly editor of the Peabody Gazette, now Assistant Adjutant of the Department of the Potomac, in Washington, who gave it to his brother Will, of this city. The latter has now committed it to the keeping of those who will ever highly appreciate it—the members of Pollock Post, No. 42.
