The man who was mistaken for an owl in the woods, and shot in the forehead by a neighbor, near Marion, some weeks ago, is getting well, contrary to expectation.
Mr. Welsh, keeper of an establishment on Main street, was arrested under the city ordinance, Monday, upon charge of violating the prohibitory liquor law. His trial was postponed till next Monday.
The Third Annual Exhibition of the Marion County Fair Association began on the beautiful grounds of the society in the suburbs of this city, Tuesday. The first day is generally devoted to making entries, arranging displays, etc., and the rain greatly interfered with this preliminary work, but still things were in good shape for what was really the first day, Wednesday.
There is a pleasing absence of oily-tongued gamblers at the Fair Grounds.
The new residence of Mr. Henry Seibert, which looms up in the western part of town, is to be one of the handsomest dwellings in Marion.
