12 Centre FBLA students qualify for nationals in California

A record number of 12 Centre High School Future Business Leaders of America members have qualified for national competition. Competing against schools 1A to 6A Thursday and Friday at the State Leadership Conference in Topeka, they placed in the top three to go on to national competition in Anaheim, Calif. on June 26 to July 1.

The parliamentary procedures team of Nellie Kassebaum, Carrie Carlson, Bryanna Svoboda, Makenzie Deines, and Tom Oborny placed first.

The business plan team of Beka Basore and Anna Weber received second place on their Centre Perk plan.

The network design team of James Wyatt, Justin Deines, and Houston Svoboda placed second.

Allie Basore placed first in FBLA Principles and Procedures, and Justin Bina placed third in Introduction to Business Communications.

Other placers who did not qualify for nationals included Abigail Svoboda and Kristin Vinduska, who finished fifth and ninth, respectively, in FBLA Principles and Procedures.

Kassebaum placed 10th in Introduction to Business Communications.
