Rev. J.M. Longfellow organized a Baptist Church of six members, at Fairplay school house January 26th.

Bayless, the veteran horse dealer, is in town this week with a fine lot of horses.

A little daughter of Mr. Essic Williamson, aged about three years, living north east of Marion Centre, came very near dying by strangulation several days ago, having swallowed a nut from a small iron bolt. Parents can not be too careful. Not long since a little child was buried in Marion Centre whose death was occasioned by swallowing a sewing machine needle.

Miss Mollie Getty, of Catlin, champion equestrienne of the county, visited Marion Centre last Monday, under the gallant escort of Charlie Vandenburg.
