Attorney Asher and editor Morgan of Florence do not appear to dwell together in brotherly love, to any great extent. Morgan frequently heaves slurs at Asher through the Herald, and Asher in his speech, last Saturday, touchingly referred to that paper as the Florence Buzzard.

Uncle George and Alex Griffith went out again last Saturday and brought in three more antelope.

We have just received fresh from the foundry, several new fonts of nice type especially for printing stylish visiting cards. At the same time our facilities for doing this kind of work as nicely as the nicest, were increased by the addition of a large and varied stock of elegant cards.

Mr. R.C. Coble has had his cemetery lot enclosed with a neat picket fence.

Mr. V. Steiner, late of St. Joseph, Missouri, whose coming we have before announced, has arrived and is opening a large stock of goods.

There will be a dance over the Cottonwood Valley Bank on Friday evening, Aug. 16, 1878. Floor managers, Asa Starkweather and Frank Martin. Music by Brumbaugh & Wise.

Wesley Artz, a lad eleven years of age, was “snapping caps” on a stone, the other day, when a piece of the brass flew into his eye, nearly destroying the sight. Playing with caps in this way is a practice quite common among boys, and it is a practice always fraught with great danger.
