Ronald Reagan’s landslide victory across the country caused something of a rockslide here in Kansas, too. The Republicans gained four new seats in the Kansas House. That brings their lead to 76 to 49 over Democrats.
In a special ceremony at the Monday night meeting of the board of education, Della Rittgers was presented an award for 10 years of service to the district as a school bus driver.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Davis of Marion announce the birth Nov. 11 at St. Luke Hospital of twins, a son and a daughter James Michael and Jessica Lynn.
Margaret Pickering, a teacher at Tabor College, and Helen Reznicek, who teaches at Marion High School, attended the annual business education seminar held recently on campus at Wichita State University.
Mark Jirak, a senior in horticulture at Kansas State University, has been named “Student of the Month” in the College of Agriculture. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Jirak of Tampa.
