Announcement was made this week to members of Tip Top Credit Union, based at Hillsboro, that the firm’s assets have been purchased by Gulf Chemical Employees Federal Credit Union. The firm will now be known at Great Plains Federal Credit Union, with general offices at Pittsburg.

Birth announcements printed in the issue include Chelsee Diane Thies, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bill Thies of Salina, born Oct. 18; Kevin Daniel Bernhardt, son of Dan and Sue Bernhardt of Hillsboro, born Oct. 23; Scott MacKinley Conyers, son of Terry and Janette Conyers of Gilmer, Texas, born Oct. 25; and Jared Duane Hett son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hett of Marion, born Oct. 26.

This week’s featured high school Warriors are Dale Heidebrecht, cross-country runner, April Ogden, volleyball player, and Jeff Makovec, football defensive back and split end.

Ruth Ann Carlson of Lincolnville, a certified fur harvest instructor, will conduct an approved Kansas Fur Harvestor class Nov. 8 at the 4-H Community Building in Lincolnville.

Sue Webb was crowned 1985 Homecoming Queen Friday night at halftime of the Marion-Herington football game. Ryan Walker escorted Webb through the ceremony. Her attendants were Robin Wineinger and Rolana Ludwig.
