Flaming Metal Systems Inc. of Peabody was awarded low bid Tuesday on a 125’x60’ metal building to house the county’s road and bridge equipment.

“September” apartments will get started in March if all goes according to schedule. Farmers’ Home Administration, a lending agency of the federal government, will finance construction of the apartments.

Births announced in this issue include a daughter, Emily Katherine, born to Tim and Melissa Sullivan, Valley Center; a daughter, Amanda Jean, born to Lynn and Peggy Kleiber, Ramona; A son, Derek Allen, born to Mr. and Mrs. Dale Mayfield, Marion; a son, Andrew Michael, born to Steve and Jolene Gayle, Florence; and a son, Travis Aaron, born to Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Koehn of Burns.

Three Marion High School students were named to District 6 band and choir. Chantal Nienstedt will play first chair bass clarinet in the symphonic band, Craig Brock will play first chair saxophone in the jazz ensemble, and Mike Wheeler was selected for district choir.

Centre High School music and drama departments will host a dinner theater with the production of the Broadway musical, “Annie.” Michele Broce will play the lead role of Annie, while Jeff Bina plays the multi-millionaire, Oliver, “Daddy” Warbucks. The musical is based on the comic strip, “little Orphan Annie.”
