Marion Chamber of Commerce again will offer a Spring Fair this year, always a popular event. This years’ will be better than ever, with several performances of special entertainment as added attractions. Display booths will be located in the basement of Marion City Building and in Fellowship Hall of Valley United Methodist Church.

An American Red Cross Bloodmobile truck went off a road Friday afternoon while returning to the Wichita Blood Bank with donations collected at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen. The driver and contents of the truck were shaken up in the wreck but the blood, packed in plastic bags, apparently was not damaged.

Brenda Lee Berg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Berg of Marion, was one of the freshmen students in nursing who received their caps at the traditional capping ceremony March 2 at Newman Hospital School of Nursing in Emporia.

Fourth grade students in Pauline Edmunds’ class dressed as cowboys to perform the song “Round-up Time” during a program Wednesday. Young cowhands pictured in this issue are Adam Collett, Justin Groening, Matt Holub, Chris Ramsey, and Chris Helmer.

Groups gather at appointed hours each morning to enjoy a cup of coffee and discuss events of the day. Pictured is one group that settles in at 9:30 a.m. daily at the Marion Pharmacy where coffee is 15 cents a cup. Men present include Al Ollenberger, Matt Rudolph, Ira Newcomer, Gail Merrill, Rosse Case, Dave Blackim, and Floyd Padgett.
