Emergency Medical Service Week” is scheduled for this week. Coe, Ken Hagerty, Alana Taylor, Bob Matz, Harvey Sanders, and Gene Winkler.

Mary Margaret Mills was crowned sweetheart of the Marion-Florence Chapter of Future Farmers of America during half time of Friday night’s football game. Chapter treasurer Todd Krispense was her escort.

Marion Country Club will sponsor a golf tournament and steak fry in conjunction with Old Settlers’ Day. Members and guests are welcome to the event.

Bob Seward, director of the Florence Ambulance Service, received a commendation from the Florence City Council Monday. Seward has served as leader of the volunteer Florence ambulance crew for 15 years.

Jodi Kristek, bride-elect of DuWayne Suffield, was honored with a miscellaneous bridal shower Sunday afternoon at the Lincolnville United Methodist Church. Hostesses were Lyn Remy, Evelyn Matz, and Sue Gutsch.

Phyllis Melton and Mrs. Ernest Bina attended a meeting of the Kansas Mothers of the Year on Thursday at the Kansas State Fair.
