City of Marion commissioners took a giant step toward forming an industrial park Monday afternoon when they purchased an option on the Hett Implement property on North Cedar Street. The city is working toward establishing an industrial park. The park would serve several businesses, including two manufacturing firms that have promised to move there if the park is established.

Candidates for Marion High School’s 1985 Queen of Courts are Leann Snelling, Patty Carroll, and Michele Bina. Escorting the candidates will be Jeff Harper, Chris Webb, and Mike Kelsey. Gary Raleigh will escort the 1984 reigning queen Janet Hett, who will pass on her title and crown to the new queen.

Born at St. Luke Hospital on Feb. 7 were Stephanie Christina, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Combs of Lincolnville and Andrew Arnold, son of Terry and Ann Holt of Marion.

Members of 20th Century Club voted Feb. 4 to make a $100 contribution to the defibrillator fund. The vote came following a talk on cardiopulmonary resuscitation by guest speaker, Cheryl Hartley.
