Marion Chamber of Commerce has begun plans for their annual Easter egg hunt in Central Park on April 6.

Centre, Wilson, Gale, and Grant townships agreed Thursday to buy a new fire truck that would be stored in Marion and manned by Marion’s local volunteer fire department. The city will provide storage and care of the unit, as well as manpower to fight rural fires in the area, which encompassed 189 square miles.

Mr. and Mrs. Rocky Hett have returned from a visit to the east coast where they were guests of his sister and family, the Lew Rothmans, in Tuxedo Park, N.Y.

Mr. and Mrs. George Waner of Marion announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Kay, to Dr. David Holland. The couple is planning a July 27 wedding.

Marion’s American Legion Auxiliary has selected three delegates and three alternates to attend Sunflower Girls State this year. Delegates are Chantal Nienstedt, Robin Wineinger, and Karen Genandt. Alternates are Lynette Lalouette, Michelle Thole, and Deb Socolofsky.
