Motorists will soon see new blue and gold road signs popping up around Marion County. They are part of a new road designation program that started Friday.

Lanell Marie Tajchman, daughter of Angela Tajchman and the late Frank Tajchman, and Aaron DeLane Hett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hett, were married May 18 in St. Mark Catholic Church.

Two local youths represented their high schools at the 1985 Kansas leadership seminar in Wichita last week. Jennifer Hanschu, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Junior Hanschu, Ramona, represented Centre High School, and Dale Heidebrecht, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Heidebrecht, represented Marion High School.

Many members of the Marion Elementary School library reading program were honored Friday evening at an awards assembly. Included were students who read at least 24 books and reported on them. They were Allison Ford, Justin Groening, Jody Jacobson, Gina Kramer, Ashley Loomis, Julie Sellers, and Terese Vinduska. Fifteen students read at least 12 books and reported on them.

The United Methodist Church at Burns will celebrate its centennial Sunday with special services and programs.
