Barry McWilliams, the artist who produces “J.P. Doodles” editorial cartoons for the Marion County Record, presented a program Thursday to students at Marion Elementary School. The artist gave the youngsters a drawing lesson using sixth-grader Richard Harris as a model, dressed as the cartoon character J.P. Doodles.
Marion County Sheriff’s Department and Kansas Bureau of Investigation are investigating the apparent murder of Shelly A. Prine, 22, a Goessel resident.
Homemade ice cream and a Sailor Bear cake were served as refreshments at the home of Gary and Joella Hett Sunday in honor of the first birthday of their son, Jared.
