Gary Sherrer, senior vice president of Fourth Financial Corporation (Bank IV) is pictured on the front page with John Crofoot, chairman of the Marion Industrial Development Committee, and Gerry Harris, president of the Marion Chamber of Commerce. Sherrer was guest speaker Thursday at the Marion Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet. He offered suggestions on how to achieve economic development in Marion.

Cindy Heerey is an intern at F.B. Dubik & Company in Wichita. Heerey is a senior business administration major at Emporia State University. She is the daughter of Charles and Virginia Heerey of Marion.

Mrs. Evelyn Kolodziejczak, a widow without children who died in December, has left $71,000 to the City of Florence in her last will and testament. The money is to be used for civic improvements.

Two women musicians, who join for duets at special services at Burdick United Methodist Church, are featured in this week’s “Organist Series.” The duo is composed of Goldie Steely, organist, and Ruth Ann Carlson, pianist. They have been playing at the church for 41 years.

Candidates for homecoming queen at Centre High School are Tana Hedstrom, Michele Broce, Gina Riffel, and Lisa Stika. King candidates are James McDonald, Scott Tajchman, Mike Stika, and Ray Kristek.
