Ken Teetzen and Jack Richmond are pictured as they look over a computer-operated machine designed and built at Marion Manufacturing Inc. It makes aircraft disc brakes and is believed to be the first programmable automatic device ever constructed in the county.

Craig J. Hanson has been appointed to replace former St. Luke Hospital and Nursing Home administrator Paul Wilson.

Kathryn Hett has played the pipe organ at Emmanuel Baptist Church for 40 years and is the subject recognized this week in the “Organ Series.”

Jeff Longhofer, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.D. Longhofer of Marion, completed degree work at the University of Kansas during the fall semester. He received a doctorate of philosophy in anthropology.

Edward W. “Bud” Colburn, 63, retired Farmers and Drovers National Bank president, died Feb. 20 at Owasso, Okla.

JoAnn Good, teacher of foreign languages at Marion USD 408, is the subject of this week’s “Teacher Profile” by Superintendant of Schools John Burke.

Marion County Conservation District presented “Bankers’ Awards” to farmers Monday for soil conservation efforts. The men are Larry Andres, Eldon Andres, Lowell Cooper, Max Cooper, David Cooper, Harold Jantz, and Greg Bowers.
