The board of directors of Marion County Hospital District No. 1 is discussing plans to build an addition to St. Luke Hospital. The addition would increase bed capacity of the hospital by eight beds and provide a separate nursing home wing.

David Longhofer, who owns and operates Sunshower Photography in Marion, has been selected as one of the top 10 photographers in Kansas.

Randy Brock, senior guard, was named Most Valuable Player and three other Marion players have earned Cottonwood Valley All-League honors. Brock was unanimous pick for MVP and first team. Chris Vinduska, senior center, also was a unanimous pick for the first team. Dean Baldwin. senior forward, was named to the second team. Mike Helmer, sophomore reserve, earned honorable mention honors.

S.R. Lunderman has announced the sale of his downtown building, the former Western Auto store, to Kermit Dirksen. Dirksen plans to remodel the building while living in the upstairs apartment.

Susie McLinden, daughter of Dick and Patty McLinden of Marion, a varsity basketball player at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., led the Lady Cardinals to their first NAIA district tournament win. McLinden had 14 points and 15 rebounds.
