St. Luke Hospital may build a new wing for long-term care patients, as well as extensively remodel the present facility, the board of directors said Thursday. The expansion would add an L-shaped wing to the west with a total of 24 beds.

Marion Elementary School has installed the first networked elementary computer lab in the state of Kansas. Although there are other elementary computer labs in the state, Marion’s is the first that is networked, according to Superintendent John Burke.

Earl and Margaret (Blondie) Frick are known worldwide for the good food at E & M Café in Durham. Home-cooked food is definitely what brings folks to the café. It also is one of a very few where you can still buy coffee and a doughnut for 15 cents.

Alissa Vogel was guest of honor Sunday at an early family celebration of her first birthday at a party at the home of her parents, Randy and Carol Vogel.
