Dr. Khanh T. Vu will open his medical practice June 6 at St. Luke Medical Clinic, Marion. Married, with two children, Vu is trained in all areas of family medicine, including obstetrics and sports medicine.

Bob and Kathy Sprowls, owners of Kingfisher’s Inn restaurant near Marion County Lake, are planning a grand opening after completing the $150,000 addition and renovation.

Brenda Walker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Berg of Marion, will graduate Saturday from Newman Hospital School of Nursing at Emporia.

Lenora Klose is retiring after 31 years working in the Marion County Treasurer’s office. She became deputy treasurer under Peter Quiring in 1957, served as treasurer from 1961 to 1965, and was deputy treasurer from 1965 until now.

Jason Bina and Mary Jane Tajchman are the recipients of the two $300 scholarships presented this year by St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary.

The Santa Fe Trail Bike Tour will pass through Marion Aug. 16 en route to two days in McPherson where special meals and evening events are planned.

Valedictorian of the 1988 graduating class of Marion High School is Mark Meisinger. Salutatorian is Denise Sellers. Outstanding senior girl and senior boy are Kathy Collett and Randy Brock.

Remodeling of the law enforcement center, which begins this week, is being done for security reasons, according to Ed Davies, Marion County Sheriff.
