Mechanical problems at the Marion elevator of Cooperative Grain and Supply forced farmers to dump their wheat on the ground outside the elevator. By Tuesday afternoon, almost 50,700 bushels had been left outside.

Michele Marie Bina and Douglas Jay Regnier were married June 4 in a double ring ceremony at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Pilsen.

Lori Lalouette, daughter of Leslie and Marilyn Lalouette of Florence, recently attended an FFA Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.

“Healthy Start” is a program for families offered by the Marion County Health Department. It will get underway Friday and is available free of charge to all Marion County residents.

Mark Meyer will be filling the position of Vocational Agriculture instructor at Marion High School during the upcoming school year. Meyer is originally from Herington and is a graduate of Centre High School. He then attended Cloud County Community College and Kansas State University.

Tara Abbott, Jennifer Thole, and Mary Margaret Mills recently returned from a 10-day United Methodist missionary education tour in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Mexico.
