City of Marion commissioners decided Monday afternoon that trash service customers will be offered 90-gallon 2-wheel poly carts at cost. And, each customer will be entitled to up to two rolls of trash bags each year, to be picked up one roll at a time.

Therese Wallman, 17, from Stockholm, Sweden, Sif Jensen, 16, and Christian Pedersen, 15, both from Denmark, are foreign exchange students this year at Marion High School. Wallman lives with the Larry King family, Jensen with the Mike Connells, and Pedersen with the Thad Meierhoffs.

The descendants of James and Anna Conyers held a family reunion from Aug. 19 to 22 at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado.

The annual reunion of the “Last Member Club” of Marion High School Class of 1928 will be held a noon Sept. 9 at Kingfisher’s Inn.

Sue Ehrlich is pictured with her entrants in the Marion County Record produce derby—17-inch-long cucumbers. The low acid, burpless variety, they weigh 1 3/4 and 2 1/3 pounds each.

Three new teachers in the Marion school system this year are Brenda Coryea, home economics, high school; Lois Smith, business and typing, high school; and Anita Hancock, vocal music, Marion Elementary, Florence Middle, and Marion High schools.
