The nativity scene in Central Park needs five more pieces to complete the set which has been donated by Aid Association for Lutherans. Needed are three wise men at $965 each, a reclining camel for $1,195, and a standing camel for $1,595.

Marion’s volleyball team placed three players on the 1989 CVL All-League team. Kristy Herbel, senior hitter and Merri Greene, sophomore hitter, were named to the first team. Tara Abbott, senior hitter/setter was named to the second team.
Airman Eric Pippin was named a basic training honor graduate by the Air National Guard after completing basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas. Pippin is a graduate of Marion High School and the son of Dean Pippin of Marion and Jane McAdoo of Sioux City, Iowa.
Marion football players placing on the CVL All-League team were Calvin Hett, senior, first team guard on offense and end on defense and senior Jason Allison, first team tackle on offense. Senior Dean Snelling was named all-league punter and senior Phil Humphries, all-league place kicker.
