Thoughtless vandals have been attacking the Nature Trail in Central Park and the newly installed gas lights which will illuminate it. City officials ask the public, especially youth, to cooperate in putting a stop to the senseless destruction.

Clifford and Evelyn Hett represented Marion County at the 71st annual meeting of Kansas Farm Bureau Dec. 3-5 in Wichita.

Heath and Heather Tajchman, children of Kay and Charles Tajchman, were seven years old Wednesday and were guests of honor at a party at the home of their parents. Those attending were Erica Buss, Stephanie Keith, Jessica Horn, Jenny Helmer, Zach Holub, Chris Byer, Jesse Whiteman, and Brad Zeiner.

Thousands of farmers from throughout the Central Plains states gathered at the John Deere Agency in Marion Dec. 5 for a consignment sale of almost 500 pieces of farm equipment.

Everett Burkhead is back in Marion and he’s mighty happy about it. Everett, who has been blind since birth says he would enjoy “seeing” his friends and invites them to drop in at Marion Manor for a visit.

Kathleen Kelly, foods editor for The Wichita Eagle, was guest speaker Thursday morning when Unit II of St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary met in the basement of St. Luke Medical Clinic. Kelly’s topic, “Taking It Easy At Christmas,” was humorous, interesting, and educational.
