An enthusiastic crowd of nearly 200 gathered Sunday afternoon to participate in the dedication ceremony of Eisenhower Drive. The event was one of many sponsored by a special committee of Marion Chamber of Commerce to honor Dwight Eisenhower on the centennial anniversary year of his birth.
Rick Lange, Marion, was seriously burned Friday when a water heater ignited gasoline fumes at a Salina residence. Lange is at St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita, with second and third degree burns on 42 percent of his body.
The former home of Marion mayor Gerry Harris was moved Friday to three miles northeast of Marion where it will serve Scott and Laurie Miesse and their family. The house was one of two sold and moved to make room for possible high school expansion and additional parking on the west side of the first block of South Lincoln.
