Marion City Commissioners approved on Monday the installation of a controlled traffic light at the intersection of Freeborn and Main streets.

Descendants of Thomas and Mahala Sampson, early Marion County pioneers, met June 10 at the Lincolnville community building for their annual reunion.

Property owners west of Eisenhower Drive have expressed an interest in extending Denver Street past the cemetery to provide access to a proposed site of the new ASCS building.

The baseball season has arrived and so do approximately 125 youngsters weekly at the ballpark on Eisenhower Drive. The program was first started in the late 1940s and has provided youth with a productive summer activity for more than four decades.

John and Helen Reznicek are pictured chatting with John Burke at a reception Friday in honor of the school superintendent. Burke technically remains superintendent until July 1, but has turned most responsibilities over to superintendent-elect Doug Huxman.
