Attending the FHA Leadership Camp Aug. 7-8 from Marion High School were Sara Blount, Jennifer Blount, Melissa Schmidt, Brandy Kibble, Michelle Baldwin, Ida Keith and advisers Brenda Coryea and Peggy Kleiber.

Water storage tower at the east edge of Marion will soon become a nocturnal landmark for travelers. El Con Services will light the water pot with three 1,500-watt lamps and the tower will be visible to motorists for miles on US-50, K-150, and K-256.

Students at Marion High School no longer need to drive blocks to park their cars. With the new diagonal parking on Lincoln Street, fewer cars are parked on neighborhood streets, relieving congestion on residential streets. The widened street also should ease parking problems and traffic congestion when Marion Gymnasium is packed for athletic events or school programs.
