Traffic control lights have been installed at the intersection of Main Street and Freeborn in Marion. The intersection is one used frequently by children during both summer and winter months. Traffic markings may have to wait until next spring because of weather.

Two men were busy laying bricks Monday, repairing the large circular planter in Central Park. The $1,200 cost will be partially paid from memorial funds earmarked for park improvement. The bricks match those used in the main gates to the park.

Bill and Betty Setzkorn of Dodge City announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Marsha Elaine Setzkorn of Manhattan, to Mark Wayne Meyer, son of John and Cleda Meyer of rural Herington. The couple will be married Dec. 28.

John Wheeler, Marion, was named honorable mention lineman for the Wichita Eagle All-Class 3A team. William Teufel, tailback, is listed in the November issue of Kansas Sports as the top rusher in Class 3A.

Bill and Mickey Lundy have moved into the home they purchased at 204 N. Lincoln. He is an engineer at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Costello of Marion and is vice president of the Chase County State Bank in Strong City.
