City of Marion offices moved across the hallway to new facilities in the old fire station Thursday and Friday. Ginger Toupin and Cindy Sawyer will handle the front desk while city clerk Joan Bowers works in a second room.

A new circular helicopter landing pad is in service at St. Luke Hospital in Marion. Construction of St. Luke Living Center long-term care wing came too close for comfort to the old pad, so hospital maintenance staff built the new pad farther away. The old pad will be used for parking.

Announced in this issue is the engagement of Genette Cathleen Bolte of Lincolnville to Keith Alan Wirtz of Antelope. The couple will be married April 12 in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Pilsen.

Sheldon Bina is pictured as he cans one of nine three-point shots he has had since the Marion basketball season began. Bina, a 5-4 senior guard, has attempted 24 three-pointers, and his nine successes are more than any other Warrior player.

Prof. Dennis Navrat of the University of South Dakota, son of Mrs. Ed Navrat of Marion, was featured in a story in the December issue of Camera and Darkroom magazine. The article was illustrated with a photograph Navrat took of a hummingbird.
