All former teachers of the Sunflower School (District 4) are invited to participate in the publishing of an album about the rural school. Joe Claney of Wichita states the album will start with 1910 and he would like to include pictures of all those who taught at Sunflower.

A come and go layette shower honoring Mrs. Greg (Linda) Carlson was held Friday evening in the parlor of Eastmoor United Methodist Church. Hostesses were Mary Smith, Pearl Helmer, Marge Christensen, Rosalie Schmidtberger, and Virginia Heerey.

Eleven seniors will participate on the Marion Warriors football squad this year. They are Mike Waner, Chris Meierhoff, Jeff Harper, Jay Sandwell, Joe Hockensmith, Russ Vannocker, Chris Webb, Mike Kelsey, Kevin Reid, Wes Riggs, and Donnie Hett.

Undersheriff Mike Childs harvested more than 1,000 stalks of marijuana that were flourishing along a roadside near Durham. Childs said he has been watching the patch for some time, and when it was evident that someone was beginning to pick it, he decided to destroy the crop.
