It was cold Wednesday, Oct. 30. But, it was nothing compared to the sleet, ice, rain, and snow that fell Thursday and Friday locking Marion County soundly in the first winter storm of the season and one of the earliest such storms on record.

Marion High School FHA members Michelle Gooding, Michelle Baldwin, and Melissa Schmidt collected food Oct. 28 as part of a trick-or-treat for Marion County Emergency Food Bank.

The team advanced to the Class 2A final four tournament Saturday in Salina.

Unruh House Moving of Moundridge delivered a custom-built 30’x84’ house from Moundridge to Marion this past week, placing it on a lot in the 500 block of North Freeborn. The home with attached garage is owned by the Rev. Arthur Tonne, retired pastor of St. John Nepomucene Church, Pilsen, who will move to Marion as soon as his new home is ready.
