The “Last Man Club” of the Marion High School Class of 1927 met at the Stone City Café Sept. 12 for a reunion luncheon. Ten surviving members of the class, including Margaret Richardson Wolf, Winifred Nelson Conyers, and Katherine Mohn Vogel of Marion, were present.

Lance Giesbrecht, son of Jim and Becky Giesbrecht of Marion won a bicycle for his efforts with the annual American Heart Association “Swim for Heart” program. Marci Cain, Marion pool manager, said Lance raised $415 by swimming 73 laps in an hour. Swimmers raised a total of $700 for the association.

The annual Marion Country Club championship was held Saturday and Sunday. Aaron Hett won a one-hole playoff with Bryan Hess to win the championship.

Lesley Sieger has been voted student of the month for September by the Marion High School faculty. A senior, she is the daughter of Skip and Eileen Sieger of Marion.

The Bob and JoAnn Good family of Marion are headed for Hollywood and an appearance on the popular television program “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” Good submitted a videotape which has been selected for airing. The tape shows Pat Cupp and Tom Thomas of Triple H Construction, Marion, during construction of the Marion Elementary School addition this past spring.
