Marion High School Swing Singer, under the direction of Anita Hancock, performed Friday at the Marion Chamber of Commerce meeting. The group also presented its annual Christmas concert Saturday and will broadcast its performance on Hutchinson station KSKU FM-106 at 7 p.m. Thursday, Christmas Eve, and at 9:20 a.m. Friday, Christmas Day.

The automatic teller machine (ATM) at Farmers and Drovers National Bank in Marion now has a broader appeal to a wider range of customers. And, the bank’s Hillsboro branch is installing an ATM, which will be located in Wen’s One convenience store on D Street in Hillsboro.

The misguided soul who stole the shepherd’s crook from the nativity scene in Central Park must be related to the one who absconded with Old Glory from the flagpole at Marion County Park and Lake. Both will be forgiven, however, in the true Christmas spirit, if they will return what they took.

A party is planned for members of the Marion Country Club on New Year’s Eve, according to committee chairmen, Harlow and Edith Warneke. Other committee members are Steve and Carolyn Moore, Gene and Doris Winkler, and Elora Robinson.

After more than five years of being below normal pool level, the water at Marion Reservoir reached an elevation of 1,350.5 above sea level Friday morning.
