Lincolnville city park swelled to the presence of almost 900 visitors Sunday evening as Pilsen State Bank hosted a free hog roast and open house. The new Lincolnville Medical Clinic and new offices for Shawmar Oil Co., also hosted open houses in conjunction with the event.

John and Cleo Loomis of Marion presented Marion City Commissioners with a $1,000 check Monday as a donation to start a fund for new public restrooms in Central Park.

Robin Wineinger was crowned Friday night as Marion High School’s FFA Sweetheart for the 1984-85 school year. Ceremonies took place Friday night at halftime of the Marion-Moundridge football game. Bret Dannenfelser, president of Marion’s FFA chapter, escorted Wineinger and the other candidates.

Kansas Department of Transportation wants to designate Cedar Street as the main access road from the relocated U.S.-56 to Marion. The City of Marion and the Marion Chamber of Commerce object to that routing. So do the people along Cedar Street. Chamber and city officials advocate Stadium Road, instead of Cedar Street, as the access road.

The children and grandchildren of Arthur and Alice Schlehuber invite relatives and friends to a reception celebrating and honoring their 50th wedding anniversary.
